Today is Worldwide Communion Sunday. That means that Christians all over the world will be sharing this meal together. These puzzle pieces have flags on them that represent different countries where Christians live – Canada, Greece, Brazil, Ivory Coast, and Bahamas. Some countries like Greece have a lot of people who believe in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
Each country, like their flag, is a bit different from the others. Each Christian is a bit different than another Christian. But on Worldwide Communion Sunday, it’s like we’re all coming together. We all fit together with a common thread of sharing the Lord’s Supper. Celebrate our differences and remember the ways that we are the same. We put these puzzle pieces together and we see that together they make a bright, colourful circle – just like this world we all share.
