HOW TO READ THE BIBLE
One way to learn how to read the Bible is that we read the passages and the stories that are very often misunderstood, misinterpreted, and wrongly applied.  This is a useful way to find how to read the Bible by knowing how not to read it.  The following are some examples that we will discuss starting this fall:

OLD TESTAMENT

  • Creation stories  Genesis 1 and 2
  • Flood and Noah  Genesis 6 – 10
  • Abraham   Genesis 12
  • Sodom and Gomorrah Genesis 19
  • Moses and parting of Red Sea  Exodus 14

NEW TESTAMENT

  • Birth of Jesus  Matthew 1 and 2
  • Luke 1 and 2
  • Healing and miracle Gospels and Acts
  • Make every person Christians   Matthew 28: 16 – 20
  • Resurrection  Four Gospels
  • Women’s position 1 Corinthians 11

From September 2016 to May 2017, Rev. Tad Mitsui is proposing to read and to tackle difficult questions and learn how we can read the Bible as the guide for our journey of life.
